Who is GYST Communications
We (Amber-Leigh & Ian) are Canadians who have traded in our snow boots and jackets in for sandals and bathing suits. We came to Central America, a place we love, that is rich with culture, food, and natural landscapes. We are not unique in our affinity for the Central Americas. People like us from all over the world flock to Central America. And, as soon as they make that decision to come, they become your potential client.
We have camped, bunked, and treated ourselves to many different types of accommodation during our travels in Central America, and have taken a keen interest in how each place differentiates themselves from the competition and how they communicate to their potential clients.
Some do a good job, however for most, they do not do very much. There are many reasons – staff shortages, lack of recourses, or not knowing/understanding the potential of some communication platforms. We are here to fill this gap with strategic communication to improve your business operations.
Amber-Leigh Polowich
Amber-Leigh has a Bachelors Degree in Professional Communications, a Marketing Diploma and Project Management Certificate. In combination with her education she has worked for professional sports teams and not-for-profits in the areas of communications & marketing, large event coordination and execution, and also as a project manager for a multi-million dollar commercial development. She has also worked in the hospitality industry for over 10 years.
Ian Cooper
Ian has a Bachelors of Science and a Masters of Science in Physiology. Although not trained in the communications world, his analytical, reasoning, and writing skills make him an excellent compliment to Amber-Leigh’s skill set. He also has work experience in the hospitality industry, and significant management experience in both the hospitality and other industries.
With our education and work experience backgrounds, we aim to get your business reaching the clients you want amongst the competition and give you the edge you need to succeed in the competition rich Central America environment.
